Lessons in Violin, Viola, Piano, Music Theory and more!

Melissa has an extensive musical background and is an active teacher, composer and performer. She has played the piano for 27 years, violin for 22 and viola for 14. She holds her M.F.A. in Musical Theatre Writing (Composition) from NYU and a Bachelor's in both Music Education and Music Composition from Seattle Pacific University and Biola University respectively. In the summer of 2014, she interned with the composer and orchestrator, J.A.C. Redford

Melissa's background includes teaching both privately and in the school setting. From 2009-2011, she taught a variety of music classes full-time at Crosspoint Academy, a K-12 private school in Bremerton, Washington. These classes included beginning band and strings, junior high band, junior high and high school choir, high school jazz band, high school jazz choir and music appreciation. She has also been teaching private piano, violin, voice and composition students in her home studio for over a decade. To learn more about her musical background, click here!

Melissa loves sharing her passion for music with students of all ages. She wants to help you achieve the success you desire, and will tailor each lesson to your needs. Want to learn how to fiddle? Great! Want to prepare for an audition? Awesome! Want to learn to improvise or brush up on your music theory? She'd love to help you learn and/or improve your skills.
 
Will work with students of any age or level.
